1. For the Bedroom: Bedrooms are like mini-paradises where you can sleep, relax in bed, and unwind after a long day/week. Because of this, it’s important to make your room a sanctuary that will not only feel comfortable, but also look comfortable. Some small finishing touches or accessories for decorating your bedroom could be:

  • A patterned comforter: We all need some kind of blanket on our beds, and a colorful, patterned comforter can not only add some life to your room but it can also make it feel super cozy!
  • Decorative pillows: Though they don’t always have the most functional of purposes, one or two decorative pillows can help to create a stylish theme for your bed!
  • String Lights: Inexpensive and super cute, string lights add magical dim lighting to your room!
  • Curtains: If you have windows or even a closet in your room, curtains can add stylish flair while being functional at the same time!
  • Favorite Stuffed Animals: Nothing says cozy like a few of your favorite stuffed animals. I have quite a few on my bed and even though I don’t sleep with all of them, they definitely make my room feel like my happy place!
  • Floor Lamp: Some of the best lighting I ever had in a room came from a floor lamp. There is just something about how floor lamps illuminate the room without the light being too overwhelming, perfect for that cozy feeling!

2. For the Office: For some of us, the office is a place of dread, while for others, a place of excitement. Whether or not you love or hate your office, with the right accessories, it can be a place of productivity and even fun!

  • Succulent Plants: Not only are plants a beautiful decorative piece, but they also give your place that fresh, spring vibe. According to Silvia C. of Daily Dream Décor, “[plants] help your home get more oxygen; they bring a happy mood into any space and help increase your work productivity.” Not only are succulents inexpensive, but they are also super easy to take care of, even if you do forget about them for awhile!
  • Pretty Artwork: Though the wold “pretty” is subjective, a few pieces of landscape artwork can definitely add a feeling of professionalism to your office, all while giving it a personal touch!
  • Organizational Desk Supplies: I know none of us want a messy desk but what we end up with may be a different story. To give your office a clean and polished look, get some small desk organizers, you won’t regret it!

3. For the Living Area: Perhaps the place we spend most of our time, the living area is super important to have put together since it is the center of your home. There are plenty of fun accessories to spruce up your most frequented area, like:

  • Organizational Furniture: I think I can speak on behalf of most of us when I say that most people like multi-purpose furniture. One way to help tie together your living area is to have furniture that serves as storage too! Examples could be a coffee table with a shelf underneath or side tables with drawers.
  • Area Rugs: Who doesn’t love a fuzzy area rug that can be decorative and double as a place to nap? Enough said.
  • Chalkboard Paint: One of the most inexpensive ways to personalize your living area is to paint a square (or circle, rectangle, whatever geometric shape you prefer) of chalkboard paint and have your friends write messages with multicolored chalk! So fun and simple.
